The news of SK joining hands with SK is creating a buzz in Kollywood. Sudha Kongara, a student of veteran director Mani Ratnam, is making waves in Kollywood with her films. She has proven herself to be an excellent director and is now directing a prominent southern actor, Sivakarthikeyan.
The movie, initially titled Purananooru, has been renamed Parasakthi. Interestingly, the film was first written for actor Suriya, but Sivakarthikeyan is now on board. Movie reviewer and director Elamaran has sparked speculation about why Suriya opted out of Parasakthi.
Elamaran tweeted, “Suriya was the first choice to act in Sudha Kongara’s movie, but now Sivakarthikeyan is acting instead. After the GOAT movie, Sivakarthikeyan’s Amaran was a super hit, and BJP members also helped make Amaran a hit.”
He further speculated, “Actor Suriya, who was once associated with Dravidian ideals, has now moved to Mumbai and wants to shine in Bollywood. However, Parasakthi is a movie based on Hindi imposition. I feel that if he acted in this movie, he might miss out on opportunities from Bollywood. That’s possibly why he opted out of Parasakthi.”
