Lokesh Kanagaraj, a young and promising director in Tamil cinema, has already delivered three blockbuster movies, having directed legends like Kamal Haasan and Thalapathy Vijay. Now, Lokesh has taken on the immense responsibility of directing the iconic Super Star Rajinikanth in his upcoming film, “Coolie”, slated for release this year. Lokesh has assured fans that they can expect to see a vintage Rajinikanth in this movie.
The Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU) has been well-received by Tamil audiences, but Lokesh has clarified that his upcoming film, “Coolie”, will not be a part of the LCU. Meanwhile, leading actress Malavika Mohanan, who recently starred in Pa Ranjith’s “Thangalaan” and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s “Master”, has expressed her regret over missing the opportunity to share the screen with the legendary Rajinikanth.
During the release of Thalapathy Vijay’s “Master”, director Lokesh Kanagaraj was already planning to work with Rajinikanth. Interestingly, Malavika Mohanan revealed that Lokesh had considered her for the role of Rajinikanth’s daughter in the film. However, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the project was put on hold.
Malavika’s revelation has sparked speculation online, with many guessing that Shruti Haasan, who is currently starring alongside Rajinikanth in “Coolie”, might be playing the role that was initially offered to Malavika.
