New Frog Species named after DiCaprio – Do you know why?

Scientists based in Ecuador have named a newly identified species of frog after actor Leonardo DiCaprio. As we all know, Leonardo DiCaprio is a renowned American actor and one of the leading actors in Hollywood.
He has been nominated for Academy Awards more than seven times and won an Oscar in 2016. With a salary of over $20 million per movie, this wealthy actor is not only a master of acting but also a dedicated environmentalist.
Beyond acting, DiCaprio spends a significant amount on environmental conservation. Recently, scientists from Ecuador’s National University of Bio-Diversity identified seven new species of frogs.
As a token of appreciation for his environmental efforts, one of the species has been named after him. The specific frog species will now be called Phyllonastes dicaprioi.
