Kamal is not just an actor—he is also a writer, director, producer, and even a playback singer.

Though Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Haasan has never won an Academy Award, his work has received international praise. His 1987 film Nayakan, directed by Mani Ratnam, was India’s official entry to the Oscars for Best Foreign Language Film. The film did not make it to the final nominations, but it is still considered one of the greatest and Legendary Indian movies ever made.
