Top 3 Paranormal Activities That Happened on Movie Sets

Paranomal Activity

Hollywood movie sets are known for their glamour, creativity, and hard work. But sometimes, things happen on these sets that are strange, scary, and hard to explain.

Some people believe these are just coincidences. Others say they are signs of paranormal activity—ghosts, curses, or other supernatural forces.

Over the years, there have been many reports of such events on film sets. Here are the top 3 most famous and mysterious paranormal incidents that happened on Hollywood movie sets.

  1. The Exorcist (1973) – A Cursed Set?

The Exorcist is one of the scariest horror films ever made. Ironically, the events behind the scenes were even more terrifying than the movie.

Many strange things happened during its filming. A fire broke out on the set and burned down most of it—but strangely, the bedroom of the possessed girl (Regan) was left untouched. It delayed filming for weeks.

Nine people connected to the film, including actors and crew members, died before or shortly after the movie was completed. Actress Ellen Burstyn got injured during a stunt, and her scream in that scene was real.

Some people believe the film was cursed because it dealt with demonic subjects. Even the director called a priest to bless the set after all the unexplained problems.

  1. Poltergeist (1982) – Real Skeletons and Real Scares

Poltergeist is another famous horror movie that had a series of tragic and eerie incidents connected to it. During filming, the creators used real human skeletons for some of the scenes instead of fake ones because they were cheaper. Many believe this led to a curse.

What’s truly shocking is that several cast members died in strange ways soon after the film’s release. Dominique Dunne (who played the older sister) was murdered by her ex-boyfriend. Heather O’Rourke (the young girl) died at just 12 years old from a sudden illness.

These events led many fans to believe that the film was cursed due to the use of real skeletons and the disturbing themes.

  1. The Omen (1976) – Coincidences or Curse?

The Omen is about the Antichrist, and the production itself seemed haunted. Several frightening events occurred while filming. Gregory Peck, the lead actor, had his plane struck by lightning.

A few days later, the producer’s plane was also hit by lightning. Even more creepy—Peck canceled one flight, and that same plane crashed, killing everyone on board.

A special effects artist, who worked on a decapitation scene, lost his girlfriend in a real-life car accident where she was decapitated in the same way as the scene. A crew member was involved in a car crash near a road sign that read “Ommen – 66.6 km.” These creepy details made many believe The Omen was surrounded by dark energy.
